Formation and deepening knowledge of the Christian faith is an essential part of the Anglican ethos. CSS endeavors to provide illuminating, interesting and challenging educational programs for adults as well as children.

Adult Education Forums: Throughout the year, adults gather in the Undercroft on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, between the two Sunday services for a variety of presentations. Recent presentations include Modernity & the Search for God: Christian Art in the 19th & 20th Centuries, An Introduction to the Gospel of Mark and The Incarnation in Anglican Prayer and Worship. Book/Video Groups: During Advent, Lent and Eastertide, adults join in evening discussion groups centered on novels, theological works and film and video series. Recent groups have read The Warden by Anthony Trollope, The First Christmas by Marcus Borg and John Dominc Crossan and viewed the BBC series Diarmaid MacCulloch's History of Christianity: The First 3,000 Years. attend classes and book discussions groups. User's Guide to the Episcopal Church: This lecture series lead by the rector, the Rev. L. Kathleen Liles, is designed to prepare adults for baptism, confirmation or for reception into The Episcopal Church. The series covers an array of topics including church history, ecclesiology, scripture, the sacraments and the polity of the Episcopal Church.
