Welcome to Christ & St. Stephen’s Church!

We warmly welcome you to the ministry of Christ & St. Stephen’s Church in the Lincoln Square area of Manhattan’s Upper West Side.  It is our hope that you find in us a prayerful and faithful community of Christians seeking to follow Jesus and his Way of inclusive love. 

Christ & St. Stephen’s is a neighborhood parish that has been in this peaceful place for generations.  We value beautiful and meaningful worship, messages from the scriptures that inspire our lives and give us hope, and being in community with one another in how we accept and care for each other.  

Part of being a neighborhood parish is how we connect with those around us – as in how we serve a nourishing brown bag lunch to those in need every weekday morning, or the 12-step programs that meet in our building most days, or our well-received concerts program, and our lovely garden that provides a place of respite and sanctuary, or for just a stop to enjoy and reflect on a beautiful day.

In our Christian formation programs, we rely on ancient liturgies and sacred texts to help us figure out how to live Jesus’s mission of healing and reconciliation in our current world.  We often discuss relevant issues of the day in a safe and supportive forum where we learn from one another.  

This is who we are at Christ & St. Stephen’s Church on West 69th Street.  It would be a privilege to have you and your family and friends join us for worship, and to take part in any of our other ministries to which you feel called.  There is an open and inviting spiritual home here.
