Renowned jazz musicians Bruce Barth (piano) and Steve Wilson (saxophones & flute) have been playing together since they met in New York in the late eighties, mostly alongside each other in large and small groups and both live and in studio recordings. In 2010 they recorded as a duo for the first time on the critically acclaimed album “Home – Live in Columbia.”
As
a leader of his trio and larger ensembles, Barth has performed at major
venues in the U.S.,
Europe and Japan; he has led bands at many major venues in New York and
Washington, D.C., and major festivals in the United Kingdom, Spain,
Sweden and Portugal. Wilson has attained ubiquitous status in the studio
and on the stage with the greatest names in
jazz. Jazz Times calls him “the consummate saxophonist-composer” and
“one of the finest alto and soprano saxophonists of our time.” Together,
their deep connection and almost telepathic communication allows them
to create music that is both beautifully melodic
and brimming with graceful swing and energy.
