Prism Quartet - Premieres (free)

Monday, June 5, 2023 - 6:30pm
PRISM Quartet, an eminent ensemble described as “virtuosic,” “elegant,” “bold,” and “beguiling” by The New York Times, presents a free PREMIERES Concert. The program features the world premieres of Yarn by Marcos Balter , Corner by Helen Feng, TITLE by Adam Silverman, and New York premieres of Pratigraha by Renee Baker and Rogue Flare, Fly Away by Alfredo Cabrera.
Matthew
Levy, PRISM's founding tenor saxophonist, writes, “PRISM is thrilled to
present a free program of world and regional premieres to our fans in
New York as a gift for their ongoing support,
especially over the recent and difficult years of the pandemic. The
composers represent many perspectives, traditions, and ways of creating
music that connect us to one another by exploring our shared human
experiences. The program covers an expansive range
of musical terrain, showcasing PRISM's ability to move between styles,
with composers drawing on everything from Venezuelan Joropo,
post-minimalism, free jazz, and more.”
Admission
is free, but tickets must be reserved in advance. Save your spot now!
